Coaching Across Dual Headquarters Without Splitting Culture

Looking up at dark glass office towers

Dual headquarters are a reasonable answer to customers, regulators, or a merger. They become a split culture when each site runs a private ExCo, a private joke about the other city, and a private version of the numbers.

Coaching across both sites is not a travel schedule. It is one operating system that can survive the flight.

Angular glass and white facade against a clear sky
Two facades can share a company. They cannot share two silent scorecards.

What “one culture” actually means here

It does not mean the same office jokes. It means the same decision rights, the same weekly hour, and the same permission to disagree in front of the other site. See The weekly leadership hour that changes execution and Virtual Executive Coaching Services.

A split test

Practice One company Two companies
ExCo Alternates or always mixed Each site meets first
Papers One pack, one clock Local packs, then a summary
Hiring of directs The other HQ is in the process Local favours
Jokes about “them” Named and stopped The social glue
Coach access Both sites, same brief A coach captured by one city

How to work

Spend time in both buildings. Do not let one HQ become the “real” client. If a carve-out created the second centre, read Decision rights after a carve-out. For global CEO frameworks already on this site, see Executive Leadership Coaching Framework for Global CEOs.
